4. Pitch Submission
The following terms and conditions are provided to guide submission of business pitch at https://bynigerians.com/the-pitch/
a.) Purpose & No Funding Guarantee
byNigerians.com does not provide funding, investment, or financial support directly through this Portal.
The sole purpose of the Pitch Portal is to curate and share qualifying submissions with third-party partners (e.g., investors, accelerators, incubators, grant programs) who may offer support, mentorship, or funding opportunities.
Submission does not guarantee: (a) review by any partner; (b) introduction, meeting, or partnership; (c) funding, traction, or business success. All outcomes depend entirely on third-party discretion.
b.) Consent to Share Information
By submitting, you expressly consent to byNigerians sharing your pitch materials, contact details, business information, and related data ("Submission Data") with vetted third-party partners for evaluation, networking, or opportunity-matching purposes.
Partners may be located in Nigeria or internationally. You acknowledge that once shared, their use of your data is governed by their privacy policies and terms.
c.) Accuracy & Ownership
You represent that all Submission Data is accurate, complete, current, and non-misleading.
You retain full ownership of your intellectual property (business idea, branding, technology, etc.). However, by submitting, you grant byNigerians a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to:
- Reproduce, format, and present your pitch internally and to partners;
- Use anonymized insights or aggregated data for research, reporting, or platform improvement;
- Feature your startup (with attribution) in editorial content, success stories, or partner showcases—subject to your prior approval for public-facing features.
d.) Confidentiality Limitations
While byNigerians treats submissions with care, the Pitch Portal is not a confidential channel. Sharing with partners inherently involves disclosure.
If your pitch contains highly sensitive information (e.g., trade secrets, unreleased IP), we recommend submitting only high-level, non-confidential summaries. For detailed discussions, engage partners directly under separate NDAs.
e.) No Obligation or Endorsement
byNigerians reserves the right to:
- Accept, reject, or archive any submission at its sole discretion;
- Request additional information or clarification;
- Discontinue the Pitch Portal or modify these terms at any time.
Inclusion in the Portal or sharing with partners does not constitute endorsement, verification, or due diligence by byNigerians regarding your business, claims, or potential.
f.) Compliance & Good Faith
You agree not to submit pitches that:
- Infringe third-party rights or contain unlawful, defamatory, or misleading content;
- Promote illegal activities, scams, or ventures contrary to Nigerian public policy.
Violations may result in removal from the Portal and reporting to relevant authorities under the Nigerian Cybercrime Act 2015.
g.) Governing Law & Contact
These Pitch Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
